Penelopiada (The Penelopiad), a staging of Margaret Atwood's renowned novella, features a formidable cast spearheaded by Polona Juh.

Penelopiada takes us to 21st century Hades, where Penelope, Odysseus' wife, recounts the events of the Odyssey. By taking a peek behind Homer's 'official' story, the play reveals our uneasy, rather subjective relation with the truth. In times when we see 'agendas' and 'narratives' lurking behind every major story — and when the media and other institutions are regularly nicknamed 'fake news' —, Penelopiad's divergent, often contradictory, Rashomon-like accounts of well-known events feel oddly familiar, relatable. Much like in real life, the truth refuses to stay still; it cannot be pinned down for long. The most truthful story is the one that leaves the audience unsure of what really happened.

Penelopiada features an original score by Silence, which includes five songs. The latter are performed live on stage by actresses and classically trained singers under the supervision of conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh.
