Življenje drugih (The Lives of Others) marks the second collaboration between director Jan Krmelj and Silence.

Based on Florian Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck's 2006 film Das Leben der Anderen, the play depicts the monitoring of East Berlin residents by agents of the Stasi, East Germany's secret police.

Krmelj's staging—a portrayal of the good old days when mass surveillance still required a personal touch—offers an opportunity to scrutinise surveillance, to observe the observer, to spy on the spy. Ever so subtly, it draws our attention to the elephant in the room: our own, increasingly Orwellian society, in which social networks trade with personal information, and where whistleblowers are persecuted for exposing surveillance on an unprecedented scale.

The play features an original score by Silence.
