Two-part documentary, 2018

In May 2018, Silence scored Od kompromisa do poslanstva: Portret Janeza Drnovška (From Compromise to a Calling: A Portrait of Janez Drnovšek), a two-part documentary about dr. Janez Drnovšek (1950-2008), a prominent Slovene statesman. The documentary marked the 10th anniversary of Drnovšek's death.

Drnovšek played an important role in Slovenia's secession from Yugoslavia. He became the 2nd and 4th Prime Minister, as well as the 2nd President of the newly established republic. In his final years, Drnovšek – a pragmatic, reticent figure – underwent a remarkable personal transformation. He wrote several books on spiritual philosophy and became a fervent human rights activist. His unexpected spirituality and uncompromising ethicality were attributed to his battle with cancer and, to a large extent, dismissed as nonsense ... thus proving that people can accept anything – except the idea of politicians behaving kindly and maturely. Regardless of the reason for his transformation, Drnovšek revealed the importance of re-evaluating our collective priorities; the dire need for a different politics.

The documentary premiered on June 5 2018 on RTV Slovenia.
