History of Love marks the second collaboration between Sonja Prosenc – one of the most promising European directresses according to Cineuropa – and Silence.

The film-maker used Concert for Guillotine and Tired History from The Passion of the Cold as the film's main theme. The version featured in the film was recorded on January 16 2018 at the Stavanger Concert Hall by pianist Igor Vićentić, cellist Ilmari Hopkins, and the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. The film also features Prologue from The Passion of the Cold.

The premiere screening of History of Love took place at the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The film won a Special Jury Mention for Extraordinary Artistic Achievement.
